Director, Lydia Esler [link] and her crew landed at 10:00am to film the short story of a waitress who falls for a writer who visits her cafe. The story is based on Edwina's own experience of trying to find the courage to ask someone out. This is evident in the lyric, "And here I am, with my heart on the line, I'd rather look a fool than never have tried."
The experience was great for me as I have a huge interest in filmmaking. Everything was shot on 16mm film to achieve an authentic retro look. This meant the scene had to be consistently lit by huge studio lamps throughout the day which of course warmed the place up somewhat.
As far as I'm aware, the scenes shot in Mojo's will be intercut with shots of Edwina performing in a studio setting and I can't wait to see the final product (although if I have to hear the song again, I'll probably want to kill someone).
